The Quiçama National Park is located in the north-western part of Angola, approximately 70 km from Luanda and it is a great place to be included in the list of sightseeing or for planning wildlife excursions in Luanda.

The park also known as Kissama has 110 km of beautiful coastline and a wide variety of habitat types occur such as the flood plain of the Kuanza river, an adjoining low escarpment and a transitional zone of grassland. The Park is continuously gaining new infrastructures in order to attract more foreign and local tourists.

The most recent are a soccer field, swimming pool, volleyball court, massage rooms and horse-race club. The interior of the Park includes dense thicket, tree savanna and large open grasslands. This implies a carrying capacity for a potentially wide-ranging spectrum of wildlife that consists of exotic birds, antelopes, ostriches, gazelles, giraffes dwarf forest buffalo, roan antelope, eland, bushbuck, waterbuck, manatee, marine turtles, rhinos and elephants. Various activities like fishing, birdwatching, game drives in the park, river cruises to the Mouth of Kwanza River, also known as Barra do kwanza  and sunning on the beach are also available in the park. 

The park covers 3 million acres (12,000 km²) and its correct designation is Quiçama National Park, which is commonly  misspelled in English and other languages as Kissama, Kisama, Quissama or Quicama. The spelling Kissama in English is the closest to the Portuguese phonetic.

The Kissama National Park has many accommodation facilities available inside the park for its visitors. Most of accommodations have nicely decorated rooms, beds covered with mosquito nets, toilets, showers and air conditionings.

So, Kissama is a stunning habitat of broad grasslands and coastal savanna which now is one of the best attractions found in Angola . Kissama was established as a game reserve in 1938 and proclaimed a National Park on 11 January 1957.
